June 2009

Looking for a few fun things to do in June? Well, here is my list and more ideas are always welcome.

1.  FREE Fishing -No Fishing License Required Saturday, June 13, 2009 - Free Fishing Day is the one day of the year when you don’t need a fishing license to go fishing.

If you’ve never been fishing, Free Fishing Day is also a great day to learn. Free events will be held across the state to help people go fishing for the first time and include loaner rods and fishing instruction. Fishing is an activity the entire family can enjoy. Check below for activities in your area or contact your local Fish and Game office.

2.  FREE Boise Events experienceboise.org

  • Alive After 5 - Concert Series on the Grove
  • Arts For Kids - Free 45-minute hands-on workshops for children, ages 3 to 12, taught by professional artists. Walk-up registration. Classes at 10, 11 and noon.
  • MK Nature Center

2. Get some much needed maintenance on yourself.

3.  Volunteer. Bake cookies for the Ronald McDonald House.  This is a great activity to do with your kids and it helps make those that are staying at the house feel a little more at home.  After all, nothing says home like something baking in the oven.

4. Support local musicians and artist.  BSU Event Calendar

5. Check out a local Flea Market.  If the weather is nice this is a great way to get out with the family and shop for  antiques, collectibles, local art, food and everything else under the sun.
